They are persecuted, stigmatized, unjustly arrested, injured or even murdered. Central America is one of the most dangerous regions for human rights defenders. Environmentalists, women and indigenous people in particular are at high risk.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>These courageous individuals and the ever-shrinking room for maneuver for civil society must be protected!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to our long-standing commitment to organizations and individuals defending human rights, we are now also providing rapid and direct assistance through our <strong>Human Rights Defenders Fund<\/strong>!
